Sanjay Bhandari, the chair of Kick It Out, is set to step down from his position at the close of the 2026-27 season. Bhandari, who was appointed in 2019, will conclude more than seven years in the role with the charity, established in 1993.
In a statement, Bhandari expressed that it has been a "tremendous honour" to chair Kick It Out. He highlighted the organisation's 'Football United' strategy, which aims to unite various stakeholders to create lasting change in a world he described as often feeling negative and divided.
During his tenure, Bhandari oversaw a transformation of Kick It Out, which included improved financial independence and governance, as well as the appointment of a new board, leadership team, and team structure. He was awarded an MBE in 2024 for his services to football.
