Mauritius's Kim Le Court secured victory in stage three of the Tour of Britain Women in Llandudno, moving to the top of the general classification. The 30-year-old AG Insurance-Soudal rider launched an attack with 2.5km remaining on the 104.7km route from Mold, crossing the summit finish on Great Orme 13 seconds ahead of Germany's Liane Lippert (Movistar).
Le Court's decisive move on the final climb left the Netherlands' overnight GC leader, Lorena Wiebes, unable to respond. Wiebes, who had won the first two stages, finished 10th in stage three. Sweden's Caroline Andersson (Liv AlUla Jayco) placed third, a further seven seconds behind Lippert, while Britain's Lauren Dickson (FDJ United – SUEZ) came in sixth.
With two stages left in the competition, Le Court now holds a 26-second lead over Lippert in the general classification, and a 35-second advantage over third-placed Wiebes.
In a separate development, the International Testing Agency (ITA) announced on Friday that South African cyclist S'annara Grove has been provisionally suspended. This follows an "adverse analytical finding" for ipamorelin in a sample collected on July 28 at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Grove, 32, who rides for the Smurfit Westrock team, did not start the third stage of the Tour of Britain on Friday, having been in 80th place after stage two. The ITA has informed Grove of the case, and she has the right to challenge the provisional suspension.
