La Liga president Javier Tebas has declared that Gianni Infantino's tenure as FIFA president is untenable, asserting that "the Infantino era is over." Tebas, a long-standing critic of the current FIFA regime, claims Infantino is "destroying the very essence of football" and has called for genuine reform at the highest levels of the game.

In an interview with French newspaper Le Monde, Tebas reiterated his call for Infantino's resignation, an appeal he first made after the World Cup. He stated, "For me, Gianni Infantino’s time has long since passed," adding that Infantino's projects are "destroying the very essence of the sport: the national leagues."

Infantino is facing increasing pressure from European football officials, including UEFA, which regards his leadership as untenable. The Norwegian FA has also called for his resignation, and several European associations have withdrawn letters endorsing him for another term. FIFA, however, published a statement accusing critics of attempting to remove Infantino before the presidential election next March.
