Charles Kelley, a founding member and co-lead vocalist of the country music trio Lady A, has announced his diagnosis with multiple myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer. The 45-year-old American musician shared the news in an Instagram video alongside his wife, Cassie.
Kelley explained that the diagnosis came after he experienced several random rib fractures, which led his doctor to conduct various blood tests. He noted that despite the diagnosis, he feels healthy and hopeful, citing significant advancements in treatments and life expectancy for the condition.
He plans to continue working, including performing in Lady A's upcoming Christmas shows and releasing a new record. Kelley stated that the initial six months of treatment are not expected to be too invasive, allowing him to maintain his work schedule and feel physically like himself.
