A luxury Lamborghini Huracan has been taken off the road by Essex Police in Southend-on-Sea following reports it was being driven at about 80mph in a 30mph zone. Multiple people reportedly stated the vehicle was being driven dangerously on Saturday afternoon.
The car was seized under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002, which was strengthened earlier this year to provide police with increased seizure powers. This legislation can be used when an officer reasonably believes a vehicle is causing, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance to the public.
According to Essex Police's website, the owner of a seized vehicle must attend the car pound within seven working days with the correct documentation.
