Scottish climber Laura Baillie, 38, has successfully completed the "full house" challenge, reaching the summit of Carn na h-Easgainn in the Highlands. This achievement means she has stood on all 1,072 of the UK's highest peaks, joining an elite group of about 100 individuals.
The challenge, set by the Scottish Mountaineering Club, requires climbers to ascend every Munro, Munro Top, Corbett, Graham, and Donald in Scotland, as well as every Furth in England, Wales, and Ireland. Baillie chose Carn na h-Easgainn, which stands at 2,025ft (617m), for her final climb to enable family and friends, including her 89-year-old grandmother, to celebrate with her near Tomatin, south of Inverness.
Baillie, a property manager from Glasgow, completed the challenge through personal determination, often undertaking remote routes and wild camping in various weather conditions. She described the Corbetts as the most difficult due to pathless terrain, while Munros often have more defined paths.
