Lee Clark has resigned as Hartlepool United head coach with immediate effect following the club's 3-1 home defeat by Worthing. This loss was the team's third consecutive defeat and their sixth in seven matches, pushing them to 18th in the National League before other afternoon kick-offs.
Clark, who took over at Victoria Park in the summer after a brief period with Rotherham United, announced his resignation to BBC Radio Tees. He stated, "I wanted to give this club and the fans something to be proud of, what they deserve, but I haven't been able to do that unfortunately."
The club, which was taken over by American businessman Landon Smith in January, is now searching for its ninth permanent manager or head coach during its four-year stay outside the English Football League.
