Leicester Tigers clinched their first home win of the season, overcoming Gloucester with a 38-31 victory at Mattioli Woods Welford Road. The Tigers recovered from a challenging start, which saw Billy Searle in the sin-bin and Gloucester's Jac Morgan and Dian Bleuler scoring early tries.

Despite the early setback, Leicester responded with tries from Finn Carnduff, Joe Heyes, and Jamie Blamire, taking a 21-14 lead into half-time. Further scores from Aaron Wainwright and Ollie Hassell-Collins secured the hard-earned win for the Tigers.

Gloucester, although suffering their first defeat of the season, maintained their top position in the Prem standings by earning two late bonus points. Jack Innard scored a try and George Barton landed an 82nd-minute penalty to secure these points.

The match, which saw Leicester retain the Slater Cup, was attended by the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, adding to the occasion.

Why this matters: The result marks Leicester Tigers' first home win of the season and, despite the loss, Gloucester remains at the top of the Prem standings.
