The sitcom, created by Stefan Golaszewski, introduced 59-year-old Cathy on the day of her husband Dave's funeral. Michael, an old friend of Cathy and Dave, gradually revealed his feelings for Cathy, leading to a romance that viewers rooted for.
Manville noted that strangers often express their pleasure at seeing a love story featuring older characters. Mullan added that young people were also interested in the show, despite the characters being in their 60s.
