Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has confirmed he declined an offer to participate in the BBC's popular programme, The Celebrity Traitors. Responding to a social media user's suggestion that he should appear on the series, Gallagher stated, "I’ve been asked it’s not my thing I’m not a celebrity."
The second season of the celebrity edition of The Traitors premiered last Thursday, achieving an average of 8.9 million viewers for its debut episode. This made it the most-watched debut for any series of the programme in the UK. The show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, involves contestants attempting to identify Traitors within their group while completing challenges to build a prize pot.
The current season features a lineup of stars including TV presenter Maya Jama, actors Michael Sheen and Richard E Grant, singer James Blunt, and comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett. During the second episode, journalist Amol Rajan was eliminated by Traitors Jama and Grant, with comedian James Acaster subsequently recruited as a new Traitor. The latest instalment concluded with a cliff-hanger, leaving viewers unaware of who was banished after Grant came under scrutiny.
