Family location-sharing app Life360 has expanded its pet-tracking services with the introduction of new $7.99 scannable pet tags. These tags, launched on Tuesday, are designed to alert families through the Life360 app when a lost pet is found, providing the pet's last known location.
The company, which integrated lost-item-finding capabilities after acquiring Tile in 2021, previously launched GPS pet trackers. Life360 stated that over 8 million pets have been added to accounts by families using the service.
Alongside the new tags, Life360 is rolling out several pet care features. These include 'care logs' to help families manage and track routines such as feeding, walks, and medication, which are visible to all family members. Another feature, 'Zoomies Alerts,' tracks a pet's bursts of energy, and a 'Weekly Roundup' recaps routines and care provided.
The new pet tags and GPS trackers are available for purchase on Life360's website and Amazon in the U.K., U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The company has also made its GPS pet trackers more accessible by including them with the $99-per-year Silver bundles, whereas they were previously only available with higher-tier subscriptions.
