LIV Golf Seeks 'One More Shot' Amid Investment Uncertainty

LIV Golf is appealing for continued support as it races to finalise a new investment deal for the 2027 season, following the withdrawal of funding from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.

  • LIV Golf is yet to finalise a new investment deal for the 2027 season.
  • Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund previously provided $5 billion but will cut funding at the end of the current season.
  • The prospective financing deal is reportedly conditional on top players agreeing to stay with the league.

Golfer Bryson DeChambeau has called for LIV Golf to be given "one more shot" as the Saudi-backed tour faces uncertainty over its long-term future. This appeal comes as the league works to finalise a new investment deal ahead of the 2027 season.

The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, which previously provided $5 billion, announced it would cease funding at the end of the current season. While LIV stated this month that it has found a new main investor for a scaled-down circuit next year, a deal has not yet been signed.

LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil acknowledged the compressed timeline to secure the investment deal, stating that the prospective financing is conditional on a critical mass of top players agreeing to remain with the league for 2027 and beyond.
