Golfer Bryson DeChambeau has called for LIV Golf to be given "one more shot" as the Saudi-backed tour faces uncertainty over its long-term future. This appeal comes as the league works to finalise a new investment deal ahead of the 2027 season.
The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, which previously provided $5 billion, announced it would cease funding at the end of the current season. While LIV stated this month that it has found a new main investor for a scaled-down circuit next year, a deal has not yet been signed.
LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil acknowledged the compressed timeline to secure the investment deal, stating that the prospective financing is conditional on a critical mass of top players agreeing to remain with the league for 2027 and beyond.
