Liverpool's Right-Back Woes Deepen as Frimpong Faces Six-Game Layoff

Liverpool's right-back injury crisis has intensified with Jeremie Frimpong expected to miss six games due to a hamstring injury, while Dominik Szoboszlai faces a minor setback in his recovery.

  • Jeremie Frimpong is likely to be sidelined until the November international break after sustaining a hamstring injury.
  • Frimpong's injury means he is set to miss Liverpool's next six matches.
  • Dominik Szoboszlai, who also went off injured, is expected to be out for about a week, ruling him out of two upcoming games.

Liverpool's right-back injury concerns have escalated following Jeremie Frimpong's hamstring injury, which is expected to keep him out until the November international break. The Netherlands international sustained the injury at Brentford on Saturday, just minutes after coming on as a substitute. Manager Andoni Iraola described it as a "massive" issue.

With Conor Bradley also not anticipated to be fit until after the November internationals, Ronald Araujo will continue in the makeshift right-back role. Araujo, on loan from Barcelona, stated he is willing to play wherever the manager asks.

There was slightly better news regarding Dominik Szoboszlai, who also left the field injured at Brentford. Iraola indicated that the Hungary international did not suffer a major setback, suggesting he is in a similar condition to the previous week. Szoboszlai could be out for approximately a week, meaning he will miss Tuesday's game against Villarreal and Sunday's match against Brighton.
