A fire near a train track in the London Paddington area has caused major disruption, leading to the cancellation of services to Heathrow Airport. National Rail stated that the fire resulted in an electricity supply failure, blocking all lines between Paddington and the airport.
Cancellations and delays to services are anticipated until 7.15pm. Great Western Railway (GWR) services to Reading have been cancelled, and the Elizabeth line is part-suspended. The Heathrow Express confirmed that no trains are operating in either direction between Paddington and Heathrow.
Transport for London (TfL) has reported that the Elizabeth line is suspended between Paddington and Heathrow terminals four and five, and also between Paddington and Reading. The line to Abbey Wood is experiencing severe delays. Additionally, the entire Piccadilly line is facing severe delays due to an earlier trespasser at Hammersmith.
