London's cultural scene is preparing for a particularly active autumn, with a range of events scheduled across film, literature, and theatre. Among the highlights is the inaugural Mubi Film Festival, which will take place at the Hackney Picturehouse from November 13-15. The three-day event will feature screenings including a 4k restoration of Donnie Darko and a 15th-anniversary special of Drive.
On stage, Keira Knightley is set to make her return after 15 years, starring in The Lives of Others at The Adelphi from October 14. The production is an adaptation of the 2006 film. Additionally, Kristin Scott Thomas will appear in Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard at the Harold Pinter Theatre, and a new production of the musical Rent, starring Gaten Matarazzo, is coming to the Tom Stoppard Theatre.
The London Literature Festival, running from October 21 to November 1 at the Southbank Centre, will be guest curated by Dua Lipa. Her line-up includes conversations with authors such as Zadie Smith and Patti Smith. October will also see several art fairs, including PAD London from October 13-18 and Frieze from October 14-18.
