The 24-year-old, a nursing school graduate from Georgia, took to Instagram Live on Thursday to deliver an expletive-filled response to the persistent rumours that have shadowed her since her appearance on the popular Peacock dating show.
Speculation regarding Annis's political leanings has been circulating for several months. This followed the emergence of online photographs that seemingly depicted her standing in front of flags associated with Donald Trump. Addressing these claims directly, Annis stated, in no uncertain terms, that the notion was inaccurate. She expressed frustration, adding that her blonde hair and white ethnicity should not automatically lead to assumptions about her political allegiances.
Annis was an original contestant on the most recent season of Love Island USA, joining the villa on its inaugural day. Her journey on the show concluded shortly before the finale, when she was voted out by the American public. During her time in the villa, she formed connections with several contestants, including Zach Georgiou, Corbin Mims, and Caleb McDaniel, before ultimately leaving with her final partner, Dylan Wrona.
Since departing the Love Island villa, Annis and Wrona have confirmed their relationship, with Wrona announcing their official status in an Instagram post on Friday. Prior to Wrona's arrival as a 'Casa Amor bombshell', Annis was notable on the programme for her open approach to sexuality and her distinctive ability to perform the splits.
Towards the latter stages of the season, Annis encountered criticism for engaging with the most connections among the contestants. She addressed this backlash during an appearance on Alex Cooper's 'Call Her Daddy' podcast earlier this month. Annis suggested that the differing standards applied to her, compared to male contestants, felt almost sexist. She also indicated that the criticism had affected her friendships within the villa, though they later reconciled.
