Lucid Motors built 2,954 electric vehicles (EVs) in the third quarter of this year, representing a 54% drop compared to the same period last year. This marks the lowest quarterly output for the company since the first quarter of 2025.
The company delivered 3,806 EVs in the third quarter, which was roughly flat with the second quarter and approximately 200 vehicles fewer than in the third quarter of 2025. Lucid has built more vehicles than it delivered in five of the last six quarters.
Lucid's CEO, Silvio Napoli, has been leading efforts to "simplify the company," which included laying off around 1,500 employees and eliminating a second shift at its Arizona factory. These measures aim to achieve cost savings of $1.4 billion. The release of Lucid's third EV, the Cosmos, which is expected to be cheaper, has also been delayed.
