Luxury teddy bears are now being sold for thousands of pounds, with some high-end designs reaching prices over £4,000. For example, Louis Vuitton's Doudou Vivienne XL teddy bear retails for this amount, featuring details such as leather on the soles of its feet.
Another offering from Louis Vuitton, the Collectible Damoflage, made from fabric designed by Pharrell Williams, costs nearly £1,000 more than the Doudou Vivienne XL.
Other designer options include a Kaws bear priced at £844 and a giant Jellycat rabbit for £750. These luxury items are reportedly aimed at adult collectors rather than children.
Toy shop Hamleys is also preparing to release a limited range of 10 bears, each dressed by a Savile Row tailor. These bears will be auctioned, with some proceeds supporting children's charities, to commemorate Hamleys' 266th anniversary.
