The M8 motorway just west of Glasgow Airport has reopened after a fatal collision. A 45-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a black Mini Cooper near junction 29 at about 23:45 on Sunday.
Police Scotland confirmed the man was pronounced dead at the scene and his relatives have been informed. No other injuries were reported.
The motorway was closed in both directions between junctions 29 and 30 overnight, causing long tailbacks and congested diversion routes during the Monday morning rush hour. It reopened shortly before 09:00 on Monday.
Sgt Jack Swindells stated that inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Police are appealing for witnesses and those with dash-cam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
