Surrey Police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after an alleged stabbing at the Stanwell Hotel in Staines, near Heathrow Airport.
Officers were called to the hotel, which houses asylum seekers, at 18:30 BST on Saturday following reports of a man being stabbed. A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A Somali national in his 20s has been arrested and remains in police custody. Detective Superintendent Kate Hyder stated that armed officers assisted with the arrest due to the nature of the report. Police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
