A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder more than six years after two men were fatally shot at a party in Manchester.
Junior Ajose, 36, and Cheriff Tall, 21, were shot dead in the early hours of 21 June 2020 at a lockdown party in the Moss Side area. Both men were shot in the head in a car park off Caythorne Street and died in hospital, according to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
A 36-year-old man was detained in Turkey and brought back to England on Saturday, where GMP officers met him at Stansted Airport. He remains in custody.
Det Ch Insp Neil Higginson from GMP's major incident team stated that the arrest demonstrates their commitment to securing justice for the victims and their families. He added that officers have been carrying out warrants, analysing evidence, and examining devices over the past six years.
GMP estimates that between 300 and 400 people were present in the car park on the night of the shootings. The force continues to appeal for information to help establish the full circumstances and identify any outstanding suspects. A £50,000 reward is available for key information that leads to a conviction.
