Man charged with murder and attempted murder after Hounslow fire

A man has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and arson following a house fire in Hounslow, west London, which resulted in one death.

  • Pawel Kulpa, 34, faces one count of murder, eight counts of attempted murder, and one count of arson with intent to endanger life.
  • The charges relate to a fire on Berkeley Avenue, Hounslow, on Wednesday, 19 August, where a 48-year-old woman died.
  • Another woman, 40, remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Pawel Kulpa, 34, has been charged with murder, eight counts of attempted murder, and one count of arson with intent to endanger life. The charges follow a fire at a residential address on Berkeley Avenue, Hounslow, at approximately 01:15 BST on Wednesday, 19 August.

A 48-year-old woman died in hospital after the fire, while a 40-year-old woman remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition. Seven other individuals, six men and one woman, received treatment for minor injuries and have since been discharged, according to the Met Police.

Lisa Ramsarran, chief crown prosecutor for London North, stated that prosecutors have determined there is sufficient evidence to proceed with criminal proceedings. Mr Kulpa is scheduled to appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
