A 41-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Robbie Lawlor, who was shot dead in north Belfast in April 2020. Paul Drew, with an address in Whitebrook Park, Tallaght, Dublin, was arrested in Liverpool on Wednesday.
Mr Drew has also been charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition with intent to endanger life or cause serious damage to property. He appeared in Belfast Magistrates' court on Friday, speaking only to confirm he understood the charges.
A detective told the court that a declaration of evidence would not be made on Friday, but noted a "correlation of CCTV and telecom enquiries". The officer added that "work was still ongoing and may take some time" and another file had been submitted.
Mr Drew's legal team stated they were working on a bail package to present to the court. The judge granted legal aid given the serious charges.
