Manchester City have agreed to sell Rodri to Barcelona in a deal worth £65.4m. The Spanish champions' third offer for the midfielder met City's valuation, with Rodri having entered the final year of his contract.

City are now set to accelerate their pursuit of Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille and could also revisit a move for Enzo Fernandez. Manager Davide Ancelotti has confirmed talks regarding Moroccan midfielder Bouaddi.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's chances of signing Bradley Barcola have received a boost after the winger was left out of Paris Saint-Germain's squad for their Super Cup defeat to Lens. Barcola was also an unused substitute in PSG's European Super Cup win over Aston Villa.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to pay £100m for the 23-year-old, though PSG's asking price is £145m. Arsenal are also said to be interested in the France international.

In other news, Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli was not included in their Community Shield squad and turned down a £39m bid from Galatasaray on Friday. Manager Mikel Arteta stated that Martinelli remains "important" to the Premier League champions, despite links to a move away.

Juventus have walked away from a deal for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, citing a valuation gap and a finger injury as concerns. Villa are reportedly pressing ahead with plans to sign Zion Suzuki as their potential first-choice goalkeeper.

Why this matters: The transfer of key players like Rodri and potential new signings for top clubs could significantly impact team dynamics and performance in the upcoming season.
