A man died after being "crushed" on a new housing development while delivering building supplies, an inquest has heard. Nigel Williamson, 60, was found injured on the flatbed of a crane-mounted lorry before suffering a cardiac arrest.

Mr Williamson, a delivery driver for KRM Building Supplies, died on 13 August last year at the Kneeton Grove housing development in East Bridgford. Nottingham Coroners' Court heard on Monday that he had been employed by KRM Building Supplies for approximately two and a half weeks.

Simon Green, a forklift driver on the site, told the inquest he found Mr Williamson lying on the flatbed, saying he was "crushed" and mentioning the crane. An ambulance was initially given a two-hour wait time, but arrived shortly after workers began performing CPR.

Forensic pathologist Dr Stuart Hamilton stated Mr Williamson had "significant" injuries to his pelvic area and lower abdomen, consistent with being crushed. Dr Hamilton concluded that Mr Williamson's pelvic injuries led to his cardiac arrest, and his pre-existing heart problems "contributed" to his death. The inquest continues.
