Man dies after getting into difficulty at Camber Sands beach

A 24-year-old man has died after being pulled from the sea at Camber Sands beach on Sunday evening. Two others safely returned to shore.

A man has died after experiencing difficulties in the sea at Camber Sands beach in East Sussex on Sunday. Emergency services confirmed that Sussex Police were called to the scene just before 19:00 BST.

A 24-year-old man was recovered from the water approximately 30 minutes later. Despite efforts by paramedics, he was pronounced dead shortly after. His next of kin have been informed.

Two other individuals, a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man, were able to return to shore safely. The coastguard, Pett Level lifeboat, and South East Coast Ambulance Service also responded to the incident.

Police have stated that enquiries in the area are ongoing, and an increased emergency presence is currently visible.
