Amrik Sandhu, a keen walker, has embarked on a unique charity challenge to celebrate his 60th birthday. The 211-mile journey takes him to every house he has lived in throughout his life, a total of 22 homes. Sandhu, who is a grandfather of five, is determined to complete the challenge within a year and is using the opportunity to raise money for charity. He has chosen to support Macmillan Cancer Support, a UK-based charity that provides emotional, financial and practical support to people affected by cancer. The organisation has been helping cancer patients and their families for over 100 years. Sandhu hopes that his challenge will inspire others to support the charity and make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. He is also hoping to raise awareness about the importance of supporting local charities and the impact that they have on communities. Sandhu's charity walk began on 1 April and he is expected to complete the journey by 1 April 2024.
The challenge is not without its challenges, however. Sandhu has to navigate through various terrains, including rural roads, urban centres and busy motorways. He is also expected to face changing weather conditions, including rain, wind and extreme temperatures. Despite these challenges, Sandhu remains determined and motivated, driven by his desire to complete the challenge and raise money for a good cause. His charity walk is a testament to the power of determination and the impact that one person can have on their community.
