A 63-year-old man, Clifford Wilby of east London, has been found guilty of harassing Labour MP Stella Creasy. Westminster magistrates court heard that Wilby was “abusive and aggressive” towards Ms Creasy on a Victoria Line train in July 2025.
The court heard that Mr Wilby blocked Ms Creasy from leaving the tube carriage, discussed her “failings as a member of parliament” and knife crime, and filmed her on his mobile phone. Other passengers intervened before Ms Creasy left the carriage.
Sarah Madden, prosecuting, stated that Ms Creasy and Mr Wilby had previously met during a Zoom meeting in 2024, which was terminated due to Mr Wilby's behaviour. Ms Creasy, giving evidence from behind a screen, said that during the online meeting, Mr Wilby made serious allegations, became abusive, and mentioned a diagnosis as a psychopath.
Deputy chief magistrate Tan Ikram found Mr Wilby guilty of using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm, or distress. Sentencing has been adjourned until 8 September for reports.
