Jake Newman, 35, from Kingsley Road, Northampton, has been given a 12-month community order after posting a threatening Facebook comment about Lucy Connolly.

Newman pleaded guilty to sending a communication threatening death or serious harm. The comment, posted on 22 August 2025, read: "Time to treat her house the way she wanted hotels treated, just make sure she's in it and not able to get out."

At Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday, Judge Smith told Newman he had committed a "dangerous, potentially very risky criminal act." The judge accepted Newman was suffering from an acquired brain injury, which included impulsivity, and was now remorseful.

Northamptonshire Police arrested Newman on the same day the comment was reported. He initially denied the charge but later changed his plea to guilty.
