A man attending a fancy dress party in Norwich last weekend, dressed as Batman, pursued a suspected thief and recovered a stolen handbag. Sonni Mason, 25, witnessed the handbag being snatched following a dispute in a nightclub queue.
Mason was accompanied by others in comic book costumes, including Mister Fantastic and Poison Ivy, during the chase. They alerted police officers before locating the suspected thief, who no longer had the bag.
Following a tip-off, the handbag was discovered on a high flint wall near Norwich Cathedral. Mason, still in his Batman costume, scaled the wall to retrieve the bag, which was returned to its owner with all contents intact.
Norfolk police confirmed officers were approached by a member of the public on Saturday, September 19, requesting help to find a missing bag. Police inquiries led to the bag's location and return to its owner.
