A man arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of Alisha Samuels in Manchester is no longer being treated as a suspect, police have confirmed. Alisha Samuels, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene on Dorking Avenue in Newton Heath after officers responded to reports of a disturbance at approximately 02:00 BST on Thursday.
Greater Manchester Police stated that the 25-year-old man has been released on police bail pending further inquiries into other matters. Detectives said their investigation remains active and they are continuing to seek other people believed to have been involved in the incident.
Det Chief Insp Justin Bryant, the senior investigating officer, urged the public not to speculate about the circumstances of Ms Samuels' death, noting that misinformation could hinder the investigation and cause distress to her family. He also appealed for anyone with information to contact police.
Another man, aged 61, and a woman, aged 38, were also arrested on Thursday on suspicion of assisting an offender.
