Manchester United has announced a new multi-year training kit sponsorship agreement with Betway. The club states this deal is the largest of its kind in global football, with reports suggesting Super Group, Betway's parent company, will contribute an estimated £20 million per season.
The Betway logo will be prominently displayed on the training kits for both United’s men’s and women’s teams. It will also feature around Old Trafford and the Progress with Unity Stadium on matchdays. This agreement follows a period last season where United operated without a training kit partner after their previous arrangement with Tezos concluded.
Marc Armstrong, Manchester United’s chief business officer, commented, "We are delighted to welcome Betway as official principal partner. The scale of our exciting new partnership reflects our growth strategy, the enduring global strength and appeal of Manchester United, and our ability to attract leading brands that want to engage with our vast worldwide fanbase." The club's recent return to the Champions League is understood to have strengthened its negotiating position for this lucrative deal.
This new sponsorship also aligns with upcoming Premier League regulations, which will prohibit gambling companies from featuring on the front of matchday shirts from next season. United finished third in the Premier League last season and have since appointed Michael Carrick as permanent manager. They have also signed midfielders Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
