Manchester United has announced its seventh consecutive annual loss, with a net loss of £43m for the year ended 30 June 2026. This wider loss follows a £33m loss a year prior, despite the club achieving record revenue of £677.6m.
The club attributed the loss to costs associated with player acquisitions and an exceptional cost of £8.2m related to the departure of head coach Ruben Amorim and restructuring. These financial results come despite actions taken by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the club's minority shareholder, including job cuts and increased ticket prices.
United's CEO, Omar Berrada, stated that the club "will continue to take a disciplined approach to ensure our finances remain sustainable." The club's wage bill decreased by £11.3m, or 3.6%, to £302m, due to changes in the men's first-team squad and headcount reduction programmes.
Following a third-place finish in the Premier League and securing a Champions League spot last season, Manchester United forecasts record revenue of between £740m and £760m for fiscal 2027.
