Martin Freeman, known for his roles in The Hobbit and Sherlock, has quietly married his partner of six years, French actor and writer Rachel Benaissa. The news emerged after the couple made a rare red carpet appearance at the London Film Festival on Thursday, 15 October.
During their appearance, Benaissa, 34, was seen wearing an engagement ring alongside a gold band set with diamonds on her wedding finger. Freeman, 55, also wore a gold band on his wedding finger. A spokesperson for Freeman confirmed their marriage to The Independent.
Benaissa, who was born in Toulouse and raised in London, has appeared in the BBC drama Normal People, comedy series This Way Up, and the Netflix film Irish Wish. She and Freeman reportedly began dating in 2020.
