Writer-director Martin McDonagh's latest film, 'Wild Horse Nine', will be released in UK cinemas on November 6. The movie, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival this week, features John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell in leading roles.

The black comedy is set in 1973 Santiago, Chile, just before Augusto Pinochet's military coup. Malkovich and Rockwell portray CIA officers Chris and Lee, who travel to Easter Island after facilitating a change of guard.

The cast also includes Steve Buscemi as MJ, the pair's boss, Parker Posey as Lee's wife Marge, and Tom Waits as Chris's estranged brother. Mariana di Girolamo and Ailín Salas appear as two Chilean students.

Malkovich's performance as Chris, described as caustic yet vulnerable, is noted as a potential awards contender. Rockwell previously won an Oscar for his role in McDonagh's 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri'.

What this means for you: You can see 'Wild Horse Nine' in UK cinemas starting November 6.
