Matthew Brennan, the 21-year-old British rider, has secured his fourth stage victory at the Vuelta a España. He won stage 16, a 181km ride from Cortegana to Palos de la Frontera, in a sprint finish.
Brennan was led out by teammate Wout van Aert of Visma-Lease a Bike, who finished sixth in the stage. Bryan Coquard placed second and Vito Braet was third.
Overall leader Enric Mas maintained his red jersey, holding a 2min 6sec lead over Felix Gall. Primoz Roglic is currently in third place, four seconds behind Gall.
The race continues with a flat stage into Seville on Wednesday, followed by a 32.5km time-trial on Thursday. The Vuelta a España concludes on Sunday in Granada.
