Max Verstappen has ended speculation regarding his Formula One future by signing a new contract with Red Bull, which will see him remain with the team until the end of 2030.
The four-time champion had been linked with potential moves to Mercedes and McLaren. He had also previously indicated he might end his F1 career due to dissatisfaction with new regulations introduced this season.
Verstappen, 28, and Red Bull announced the extension ahead of his home race, the Dutch Grand Prix. His previous contract was set to expire at the end of 2028 but reportedly included performance-based break clauses.
Despite Red Bull's struggles with the new regulations this season, Verstappen expressed confidence in the team. He stated, “The team is like a second family for me and I feel very at home.” He also praised Team Principal Laurent Mekies, who took over in July last season.
