M-Sport Ireland driver Josh McErlean has secured his best finish in the World Rally Championship, finishing fourth in Rally Greece. The event saw Sebastien Ogier, driving for Toyota, claim the top spot on the podium, his first win of the year.
Ogier's victory came after a thrilling battle with Hyundai's Thierry Neuville, who finished second, 58.3 seconds down on the French driver. Takamoto Katsuta, also driving for Toyota, took third place, ahead of McErlean.
McErlean's achievement marks a significant improvement from his debut WRC season, where he secured three seventh-place finishes. The 26-year-old driver and his co-driver Eoin Treacy demonstrated their speed and control, particularly in the final stage.
In a breakthrough weekend for McErlean, he was initially in the running for a top-three finish but was forced to recover from a scare on the penultimate stage. Despite the setback, he kept his composure and secured fourth place, his best finish in the WRC.
