The five-bedroom house on Mersea Island where Carol and Stephen Baxter were fatally poisoned in 2023 is currently on the market for £800,000. The couple were murdered by their friend Luke D'Wit with fentanyl.
The three-storey property, located in Victory Road, is in one of Essex's waterfront communities. A framed photograph of Carol and her daughter Ellena is reportedly featured in the online property listing.
Rachel Ollington, an Essex property consultant, stated that there is no obligation for the estate agent to inform potential buyers of the house's history, but they must disclose it if asked. She believes that 90% of viewings will be from people who are simply "nosey".
D'Wit is serving a life sentence with a minimum term of 37 years for the murders. Essex Police recently closed a review into whether D'Wit had used fentanyl to kill other people.
