In Wales, the warning covers much of the south and central regions, where similar conditions are predicted. While Northern Ireland is not currently under a specific thunderstorm warning, unsettled weather is still expected, with a chance of showers. Scotland, particularly its southern and eastern parts, may also experience some thunderstorm activity, though less widespread than in England and Wales.
The primary concern for residents and commuters is the potential for surface water flooding, which could impact homes and businesses, as well as cause delays to public transport services. The Met Office advises that there is a slight chance of power cuts and other disruptions to services. Hail is also a possibility in some areas, potentially adding to hazardous driving conditions.
