Forecasters anticipate that Abercarn could experience rainfall totals of 20-30mm, with isolated areas potentially seeing up to 50mm over higher ground. Coupled with this, strong winds are expected, with gusts widely reaching 40-50 mph inland. Coastal areas, particularly exposed ones, could see gusts rise to 60 mph, posing a risk to property and making travel hazardous.
The primary concerns arising from this weather pattern include the potential for localised flooding, especially in low-lying areas and where drainage systems may struggle to cope with the volume of water. Such conditions could lead to difficult driving conditions, extended journey times, and disruptions to public transport services. There is also a risk of power outages due to the strong winds affecting overhead power lines and falling trees.

Parts of England, including the South West and some central regions, are also covered by similar warnings for rain and wind.
