Heavy rain will batter large parts of England tomorrow as the Met Office issues a yellow weather warning from 3:00 AM to 6:00 PM, threatening flooding and travel chaos across major cities including Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.
Forecasters warn some areas could see up to 50mm of rainfall in isolated spots, with 20-30mm expected more widely. The deluge poses a significant risk of surface water flooding, particularly in urban areas and on already saturated ground.
The warning covers a swathe of England from the South West through the Midlands to parts of the North East. Gusty conditions will worsen the impact of the heavy downpours, creating treacherous conditions for the millions of commuters travelling through affected areas.
The Met Office advises residents to allow extra time for journeys and avoid driving through floodwater. Homeowners should clear drains and gutters as a precaution, whilst motorists face the prospect of standing water on roads.
Emergency services and local authorities are monitoring conditions closely. Temperatures will remain mild for the season at 10-14C, typical of the frontal systems bringing prolonged autumn rain.
The warning affects only England, with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland escaping the worst conditions, though scattered showers remain possible elsewhere.
