Metropolitan Police are appealing for public assistance following the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in Southall, west London. Officers were called to the scene on High Street shortly after 6pm on Tuesday, 28th May, following reports of a large fight involving individuals armed with machetes.
Upon arrival, emergency services found the teenager suffering from stab wounds. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to a west London hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he sadly succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
A murder investigation has been launched by detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command. While formal identification is yet to take place, the boy's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident at this stage.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the fight, or who has any information, footage, or photographs that could assist the investigation, to come forward. They can contact the police directly or provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers. The area around High Street was cordoned off for forensic examination as part of the ongoing inquiry.
