Meta's experimental AI-powered gaming app, Pocket, is now available to users throughout the U.S. The app, which was previously tested in Brazil last month, allows individuals to generate small, interactive games using AI prompts.
These games, referred to as "gizmos," can respond to touch and phone tilt, play sound effects, and incorporate clips of songs. They can also utilise photos from a user's camera roll or access their camera. Created games can then be shared on a user's profile for others to save, remix, or repost.
Pocket is the latest in Meta's efforts to mainstream AI creation tools, following previous initiatives like AI-generated images via its Meta AI app and AI videos from the experimental Vibes app. CEO Mark Zuckerberg has attributed the increased output of new apps to AI-enabled software development.
