Mick Jagger's Advice Kept Duran Duran Together, Says Nick Rhodes

Duran Duran co-founder Nick Rhodes has disclosed that the band nearly split up years ago, but was kept together by advice from Mick Jagger. Rhodes, the only ever-present member, shared this information in an interview with The Independent's editor-in-chief, Geordie Greig.

According to Rhodes, Jagger told him in the mid-Eighties, "You know you really do need to stick together, that is your future." Rhodes affirmed that Jagger "was right because it could all have fallen apart at that time."

Duran Duran, who formed in Birmingham half a century ago, have sold 100 million records and are currently on a sold-out tour across the UK and Europe. Rhodes also discussed his personal style, his approach to music, and his decision to avoid drugs, stating his mind moved too quickly.
