Mikel Arteta has committed his future to Arsenal, signing a new four-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2030. The deal includes a substantial pay rise, recognising his success in leading Arsenal to the Premier League title last season, ending a 22-year wait.
Arteta, who took over in December 2019, is now the Premier League's longest-serving manager. He expressed his privilege to continue working with the club, stating, "This is only the beginning of what we can achieve together."
The new contract is reportedly worth around £10 million per season, with an additional £5 million bonus for reaching the Champions League. Arsenal's co-chairs, Stan and Josh Kroenke, praised Arteta's deep understanding of the club's values and commitment to building on their achievements.
Arsenal recently confirmed they have shelved plans for a major Emirates Stadium expansion, reportedly due to Arteta's concerns about potential disruption. The team is set to face Leeds on Saturday, aiming to recover from a recent 3-0 defeat to Brighton.
