Milford villagers to pay respects to Dame Penelope Keith ahead of funeral

Villagers in Milford, Surrey, are preparing to pay their respects to the late actress Dame Penelope Keith, who died in June at the age of 86. Her coffin will be walked through the village before her funeral.

Residents of Milford, Surrey, are invited to pay their respects to Dame Penelope Keith as her coffin is walked through the village ahead of her funeral. The actress, known for her role as Margo Leadbetter in The Good Life, died peacefully at her home on 29 June at the age of 86, whilst living with cancer.

Witley & Milford parish councillor Maxine Gale announced on Facebook that a procession would begin just before 10:00 BST from the traffic lights at the end of Portsmouth Road. Councillor Gale urged residents to attend and say their "goodbyes to a very special lady".

The Witley & Milford Parish Council stated that Dame Penelope was a familiar presence at community events and would be remembered for her kindness, humour, and genuine interest in the community.
