  • The partnership is worth upwards of $100 million, approximately half of Mirendil's seed funding.

AI lab Mirendil has entered a multi-year partnership with Google Cloud to secure compute capacity for its research into self-improving AI. The deal is valued at over $100 million, according to Mirendil's co-founder and CEO, Benham Neyshabur.

This agreement grants Mirendil access to Google's TPUs and Nvidia GPUs, as well as managed training clusters. The startup intends to use these resources to develop AI systems that can iteratively improve themselves, a concept also known as recursive self-improvement.

Mirendil believes this technology could automate significant portions of scientific and AI research. The company hopes its AI will eventually be capable of undertaking the work of an entire frontier AI lab, potentially accelerating progress in areas such as medicine, biology, and materials science.
