Anna Morris and Jess Roberts have secured gold and silver medals for Wales in the women's 25km points race. Morris, a qualified doctor, dominated the race, collecting points in the first three sprints before lapping the field to gain 20 points with approximately 60 laps remaining.
Roberts also lapped the pack and moved up the points table. The lead exchanged hands between the Welsh pair multiple times in the latter half of the race, before Morris established a six-point lead over her team-mate.
Morris claimed 10 points in the final sprint, finishing with a total of 66 points. Roberts secured second place with 38 points, holding off Australian bronze medallist Georgia Baker by a single point.
