A mother and her boyfriend have been found guilty of the murder of her two-year-old daughter, Isabelle Welsh. Alexandra Walker, 25, and Harrison Simpson, 22, were both convicted of murder and child cruelty at Teesside Crown Court.
Mr Simpson was also found guilty of sexually abusing Isabelle. Prosecutors had previously stated the couple were responsible for a "wicked" campaign of sexual abuse and violence against the child.
Isabelle Welsh suffered multiple injuries in the weeks leading up to her collapse with a fractured skull at her Thornaby home in September 2025. Both Ms Walker and Mr Simpson blamed each other for the girl's injuries and suffering.
